{"id":2724,"date":"2019-08-14T19:35:29","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T19:35:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westernmirror.com\/?p=2724"},"modified":"2019-08-16T02:17:34","modified_gmt":"2019-08-16T02:17:34","slug":"solar-raving-for-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernmirror.com\/?p=2724","title":{"rendered":"Solar &#8216;Raving For Charity&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Breakfast Party aims to raise millions for\nCRH<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The organizers of Solar All-Inclusive Breakfast Party are\ndoubling their efforts for the sixth edition of the event with a view of\nsurpassing the one-million-dollar donation made to Cornwall Regional Hospital\nfrom the last staging.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solar All-Inclusive\nBreakfast Party was conceptualized under the theme \u2018Let\u2019s Rave for Charity\u2019,\nand is now one of the leading donors to the We Care for Cornwall Regional\nHospital initiative, with some $2.5-million in donations since inception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Antidote\nEntertainment produced event has seen tremendous growth since inception in 2016\nand plans are already set for two remaining stagings this year. Through this\nincrease and a move to get more sponsorship, as well as the general citizenry\ninvolved, the organizers are looking to generate more funding for the\nbeleaguered hospital.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At a media launch of\nthe event on Thursday at Iberostar Rose Hall Resort, Kareem Jennings, Director\nof Antidote Entertainment, said they were moving to create more awareness for\nthe event and the impact it has had in providing assistance for Cornwall\nRegional Hospital. \u201cThrough the support of our patrons, the donations have been\nused to acquire critical medical supplies and renovations to sections of the\nfacility. The needs of the hospital have increased, and we are planning on\nplaying a greater role in this effort to improve the facility. The state of the\nhospital &#8211; the only Type A medical facility in Western Jamaica, is a troubling\nissue and we believe that as much as we can connect with the government,\npartner with Corporate Jamaica and get more persons behind the effort, greater\nimpact can be created,\u201d stated Jennings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the move to\nengage as many stakeholders is part of an overall plan that will also see the\nevent being staged for the first time in Kingston in November of this year.
