{"id":2719,"date":"2019-08-14T17:36:02","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T17:36:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westernmirror.com\/?p=2719"},"modified":"2019-08-14T17:37:10","modified_gmt":"2019-08-14T17:37:10","slug":"chinese-make-promises-with-rhyne-park-housing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernmirror.com\/?p=2719","title":{"rendered":"Chinese make promises with Rhyne Park Housing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Clinton Pickering<\/em> &#8211; <\/strong><em>Freelance Writer<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Henan Fifth Construction Group (HFC), the Chinese firm that has taken on the $8.4 billion housing development at Rhyne Park Estate in Montego Bay, has publicly made commitments not heard before from any developer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its promises are supported by certification for high\nstandards, innovation, quality of work, timely delivery of projects undertaken\nand adherence to costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General Manager of HFC, Baoguo Chen, spelt out six promises\nat last Friday\u2019s ground-breaking ceremony for the 754 houses and apartments the\nChinese company will be building over the next three years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first promise is \u201cto keep the value of quality,\nintegrity and win-win cooperation.\u201d The company will be introducing a\nperformance excellence model and international management standards. \u201cBesides,\nstandardization and lean management will also be stressed in the whole\nconstruction period for the quality housing solutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As seen in major projects undertaken globally, HFC says\nadvanced technology and techniques will be applied to guarantee construction\nquality and improve efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Chen has promised that all staff will be motivated to\nhave the project completed as scheduled and \u201clocal ecological environment will\nbe strictly protected\u201d throughout construction as required by the government of\nJamaica and set out by NEPA in its approval of the development on July 16, this\nyear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Against the background of concerns raised from time to time\nabout the ratio of local labour to that of imported labour on projects being\ndeveloped by the Chinese locally, Mr Chen promised that in keeping with an\nagreement \u201cwe will use more than 70 percent of Jamaican labour to participate\nin the construction.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HFC says it wants to promote job creation and the\ndevelopment of the local construction industry.
