{"id":2408,"date":"2019-06-17T18:18:13","date_gmt":"2019-06-17T18:18:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westernmirror.com\/?p=2408"},"modified":"2019-06-17T18:18:16","modified_gmt":"2019-06-17T18:18:16","slug":"please-come-home-mommy-loves-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernmirror.com\/?p=2408","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Please come home, mommy loves you\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>Distraught mother pleads with teen daughter<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Barrington Flemming<\/strong> &#8211; Staff Reporter<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cTishana, please come home, mommy loves you!\nMommy will not hurt you!\u201d, the impassioned plea from a distraught mother,\nTishia Thorpe, who has not been eating and has been \u2018crying a river\u2019 of tears,\nhoping that her 13-year-old daughter, Tishana Baker, returns home to her at\ntheir Love Lane residence in Montego Bay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI can\u2019t sleep, I\ncan\u2019t eat, every time I try to put food at my mouth, I can\u2019t eat. I\u2019m thinking\nabout her. My heart is full, I just want to see my daughter,\u201d said Thorpe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 13-year-old\nwent missing on Friday, June 7, when she fled from a moving vehicle in which\nher mother and herself were passengers, and has not been seen or heard from\nsince. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A tearful Miss\nThorpe related that two Wednesdays ago, Tishana had complained that her shoes\nneeded to be replaced, so she left her daughter at home and went to purchase a\nnew pair of shoes for her, only to realize when she returned home that Tishana\nwas not there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt was not until\nFriday that she came home and they locked her in the house until I got home. I\ndecided to take her to the police station. So, we were in the bus, I was in the\nfront seat and she was in the back. I was so frightened when she opened the\ndoor and jumped from the moving vehicle. I went to the gully (North Gully\/\nWilliam Street) area where she ran to, but I did not see her. I took a picture\nback to the police station but have not seen her since.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DISOBEDIENT\nCHILD<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thorpe said her\ndaughter is a disobedient child, doing things that she as a mother does not\nsupport or uphold, and this has caused the relationship between them to be\nstrained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe cannot manage\nthe discipline that I stand for, so I believe that is why she is out there\nbecause she wants to do her own things and I will not allow her to have her own\nway,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not the\nfirst time that Tishana has gone missing, as Thorpe further explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe and her sister\nwere not behaving the way they were supposed to. They were having serious\nattitude problems.&nbsp; She went away before\nand she, along with her elder sister, were eventually put in a place of safety\nfor a month.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thorpe laments that\nwhile the sister has changed and is now behaving well, it is Tishana who is\nposing a serious challenge for her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She explained that\na probation officer has spoken with Tishana but she has seemingly dismissed all\nthat was said to her and is doing her own thing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Thorpe, who says she is a mother of nine (one\nhas predeceased her), with Tishana being the last girl, works and operates a\nshop to take care of her children. She said the Child Protection and Family\nServices agency assists her with the maintenance of the children as the father,\nwho is self-employed, does not take care of his children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her final\nappeal, she is urging whomsoever has Tishana in their care or to whom she has\ngone to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPlease, I can\u2019t\ntake this anymore. My head is hurting, my eyes are hurting, I can\u2019t manage this\nanymore. Take her to the police or take here to me, her mother. I love my\ndaughter I only want the best for her.&nbsp; I\nwon\u2019t be comfortable until l I see Tishana.
