{"id":1104,"date":"2018-01-29T18:57:53","date_gmt":"2018-01-29T18:57:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westernmirror.com\/?p=1104"},"modified":"2018-01-29T18:57:53","modified_gmt":"2018-01-29T18:57:53","slug":"heights-trample-rovers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westernmirror.com\/?p=1104","title":{"rendered":"Heights trample Rovers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Noelita Lawrence<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Wounded Seba FC and Revelation will go in search of a first win when the two lock horns in one of two matches on tomorrow in the St. James FA Sandals\/ATL Senior Football League at the UDC field.<\/p>\n<p>The red and green-clad Seba will be hoping to mark a victory having suffered defeat in their opening match of the campaign, a first such feat in two seasons.<br \/>\nTwo of the League more attractive-playing teams, Irwin and Club Stars, are scheduled to battle in the other game to be contested at Irwin.<br \/>\nBoth matches are slated to kick off at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<strong>HEIGHTS IMPRESSIVE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile at the start of the weekend, Heights pumped in four unanswered goals inside 25 minutes to score a come-from-behind 4-1 thumping of the muchhyped Lilliput Rovers at the UDC field.<\/p>\n<p>In the late-starting affair, Heights created several scoring chances in the early stages and dominated the attacking plays, seeming likely to score with every attack, but slipped behind through a rocket from the Rovers attacker who rifled home from the right of the goal after being put through on a build up down the wing.<br \/>\nAnthony Gooden leveled things for Heights in the second half when he nodded past the flat-footed goalkeeper.<br \/>\nFollowing the goal, Heights\u2019 attacking play and movements off the ball increased in tempo as they continued to cut through their opponents\u2019 disorganized backline at will.<\/p>\n<p>An own-goal, another from veteran Garth Johnson, who should have ended with at least five on the day, closed out the sensational comeback with a well-taken strike.<\/p>\n<p>Heights, last season\u2019s beaten finalists, with the three points marked their first win of the season, which has this year\u2019s format as a League<br \/>\nThe competitive showdown which was full of goal-mouth activities, saw several missed chances by the weakened Heights team, which has seen many of their top stars migrate to other clubs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Noelita Lawrence Wounded Seba FC and Revelation will go in search of a first win when the two lock horns in one of two matches on tomorrow in the St. James FA Sandals\/ATL Senior Football League at the UDC field.
